John Starrett Dies in Fatal Motorcycle Crash Near Pensacola; Navarre Community Mourns 43-Year-Old Photographer
The Navarre, Florida, community is grieving the tragic loss of BrettJohn “John” Starrett, who died in a fatal motorcycle accident on Thursday evening, July 2, 2026. He was 43 years old.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Interstate 110 North near mile marker 1 in Escambia County. Preliminary investigators reported that Starrett was operating a motorcycle when it left the roadway, traveled onto the inside shoulder, and struck a concrete traffic barrier.
The force of the collision ejected both Starrett and his passenger, a 45-year-old woman from Navarre. Authorities said the pair fell from the overpass and were pronounced dead at the scene.
