A rare and striking weather event unfolded over Germany’s largest lake this week as a massive waterspout developed above Lake Constance, known locally as Bodensee, drawing the attention of residents, tourists, and weather enthusiasts across the region. The towering column of rotating air and water formed near Friedrichshafen during a period of intense thunderstorms before moving in the direction of Lindau in Bavaria, creating dramatic scenes along the shoreline.
According to meteorologists, the waterspout remained visible for approximately 15 minutes, allowing hundreds of onlookers to witness the unusual phenomenon. Numerous photographs and videos captured the rotating funnel extending from the storm clouds to the lake’s surface, quickly spreading across social media and attracting widespread interest throughout Germany and neighboring countries.
